I am 50, and I liked the Black Sabath record when I was a teen ager. Now Ozzie is an oddity in that he is still alive, let alone well off. I think that the wife/manager has the check book. She keeps him bare foot and sedated. As far as guns and politics go, Ted Nugent is anti drug & pro gun. I think Ozzie is more like the Klintons, living physically in a mansion, but spiritually in a dog house.

This time it's a cultural breakthrough called The Osbournes, a brilliant (Time magazine) reality show chronicling the family life of heavy _meta_l has-been Ozzy Osbourne. It's the most refreshing, funny and subversive 30 minutes of television the Baltimore Sun TV critic has seen this year. Hectic and hilarious, says the Boston Globe's reviewer, who adds that the program puts the fun back into family dysfunction. Some 5 million viewers watched the show last week. I tuned in to see what all the panting and raving was about. When the Osbournes and their teen-age children aren't cursing their lungs out, they're playing with their dogs, lounging in their Beverly Hills mansion, and snickering at the antics of the addled head of the household. After decades of heavy alcohol and drug abuse, Ozzy is barely intelligible. The star of the show stutters and slurs and stops mid-sentence. His hands shake. He shuffles. And he refuses to quit drinking. This isn't hilarious. It's pathetic. Sometimes I'll have a drink, Osbourne told a reporter earlier this month. I'm not too totaled, completely. I mean, I can't do it as regularly as I used to. I shouldn't do it at all, to be truthful with you. But sometimes I just want to unload from this f

Arguably, the major difference between Ozzie and President Bush is the love and support of a good woman, the first lady... Plus the fact that the Pres had the force of will to overcome the problem. To think the Osbournes and much of the MTV viewership represents the democrat party _base_!!! This must be why democrat party leadership sees the general public as stupid. And why the democrats are pushing for gun control. Isn't this the same guy Bush is having a dinner with at the White House? Yes. You don't know who freakin' OZZY OSBOURNE is? What cave have you been hiding in for the last quarter century? I don't think Ozzy represents the democrat party _base_ . With his income and holdings, if he doesn't vote Republican, I'd be surprised. Most of the black sports figures still think of themselves as poor . And are big democrats. Ozzy's black? He plays sports? What the fuck does that have to do with the price of coke in Bolivia? I think that the idea of republicans being rich is outdated. Just look at all those Hollywood types who supported Clinton. I don't agree with the outdated part but you're right about the big Hollywood Democrats. In fact the democrats may have more very wealthy folks in their ranks than do the republicans. Doubtful. Maybe in Los Angeles County or even the state of California, but very doubtful for the whole country Are we talking about donors, or individual voters? If it's individual voters, one would tend to think that most of the wealthy in the country do vote Republican. But I'm thinking back to The Map from the election
